Labrador Park, Pints of Guinness and Fish & Chips

On this very special day for Fuzzy and I, we took the family to the Labrador Park boardwalk. I love the smell of the ocean, and the salty breeze in my hair. It was an eye opener for Mae, who met the sea for the first time.

No hat, no play.

Mae at the end of our walk.

Dinner was planned for the Old Brown Shoe, a great little British pub on Bukit Timah. Fuzzy and I are particularly drawn to this place because they have Guinness on tap. Pints of Guinness paired with greasy deep-fried food. Can't beat that!
Another one bites the dust.

Chubbs ate so much fish and chips.

Play before bed. Chubbs teaching Mae how to chew on the teether.

School Carnival 2012

Chubbs was particularly excited about his annual school carnival this year. This is one of the main things that highlight how much he's matured in a year. He actually knows what's going on nowadays. He was telling me for weeks prior, that there would be games, lots of food, activities like soap-making, and most importantly, a bouncy castle. He was so looking forward to the day.

"Fishing" as many ping pong balls as possible. He said to me sadly at the end of the day, "Mommy, I needed to scoop 7 balls to win. But I only got 5." Poor boy. I told him he'd do better next year. The funniest thing was, he was carefully picking out only the orange ping pong balls, and making sure to drain off the water before plopping them into the pails. Made me laugh hard.

Throwing the ball into the frog's mouth; his favourite game at the fair; he won two prizes!

His favourite part of the day was undoubtedly the bouncy castle. He went on it three times, and the queues were long, mind you. He had a blast!

Finally...

My Little Girl at 5-Months Old

My five-month old little girl can sit tripod. She loves playing with Chubbs and having him around more than anything else. She smiles instantly whenever anyone speaks to her or smiles at her. She hasn't rolled over on her own yet; I don't know if it's because she doesn't know how, or because she's simply content lying on her back, endlessly entertained by us. She sings along when Chubbs and I sing to her. She is extremely chatty, and has the loveliest sing-song voice. She is 8.1kg. She watches intently as we eat, licking her pretty rose-bud lips; I reckon she'll be more than ready to start weaning in a month's time. She is loved to bits.

Being read to by Kor-Kor.

An everyday sight.

Fun on the Lawn

When the weather's good, i.e., not thunderstorming, crazily humid, nor scorching hot, the kids go outside for a run around on the driveway and the lawn before dinner. Chubbs jumps, skips, sprints, hops, until he's winded. He takes a rest, and promptly goes back to his "exercise" routine until I call a water break. Mae's happy just really watching Kor-Kor and checking out flowers with Mommy.

Of Hats and Hair

What the kids were up to, early one morning.

Chubbs, and his mad morning hair.

My hubby is obsessed with hats; and Mae is an (un)happy victim.

My daughter can make funny faces.

Another hat, and hugs from Kor-Kor.

Watching the market, when the fun was over.
