"The Kids are Asleep."

Fuzzy and I say this to each other nightly, almost as congratulations for having made it through the day, and we can finally take a seat and do something for ourselves. E.g., take a shower, have a cool drink, eat dinner, or simply turning on the TV and putting our feet up. Some days this magical moment comes at 8.30pm (truly wonderful), some days later, at 9plus, and on really long days, we don't get to utter those words till past 10.30pm. Today was a long day, with Chubbs finally dozing off at 10.20pm, after waking up before 9am this morning, and enjoying a full, activity-filled day without a nap.

Chubbs' bedtime has been erratic because of the commotion that comes with the new baby girl. He's more excitable at when it's time to sleep, because of the increased activity around the room, and it's been hard trying to get him to wind down. I don't blame him at all, but I'm hopeful that in time, he'll be more adjusted, and it'll be less of a struggle getting him to fall asleep.

The peace does not last, though. Even before I managed to post this, Mae has woken up twice, once for a feed, and once more because her stuffy nose was really bothering her. But I'm happily grateful for the brief moments I get.
